My twenty year vision

Healthy play a great habit to get into.

Learning from others and following great examples (she was trying to do "yoga" with her sisters.)

Creativity. As you can see she was in a skirt and wanted to so some "yoga". But her skirt had to stay down. : )

Photography. A talent that I want to develop. Not great yet but some day I hope to get their.

Dance, another talent that we want the girls to develop. : )
Service, they were able to go to the old folks home and do this for the elderly. It was a great time and their talent was really appreciated. Their are so many others but I don't have pics for them. : )

Ok so I am reading this book called "A house united" by Nicholeen Peck. She teaches you about how to have your house run on self government. You can check out her web site and pick up her book at www.teachingselfgovernment.com
Anyways, one of her assignments was to do a 20 year vision of your family. I only have done my children thus far but I wanted to share my experience. You see, I am not one who likes to really write. No, I shouldn't say that because I actually do like to write my problem with writing is that I don't feel like I am a good writer. And I can't spell worth a lick. Steve often says that with as much as I read I should be a good speller. LOL. Anyways, I went ahead and did the assignment. It was a very spiritual assignment that I didn't really think was going to be. It was a great insight of what my children are really capable of. It made me look at their talents and what makes them special. It makes me realize just how much of a responsibility I have in bringing them up. In molding them into the kind of people that I want to come out of my house and into the world. It also made me again know why I home school and why I am the way that I am. I truly want and need to be a stronger and better parent. It is my responsibility to teach and train my children. If I slack and procrastinate than they will I believe still be the kind of people that they are supposed to be. However, it will take a LOT more effort and who knows maybe they will not become what they are meant to be unless I am a strong and loving parent. Well, I need to go to start school. But I had to share this with you all and encourage you all to do the same. And go and pick up her book!!!!! I actually know her and she is an incredible person and their house is also incredible. She was on the worlds strictest parents and I do believe that her video is on her web page also. And yes, they really do all of those things with their children as far as how she disciplines them. She is amazing and I hope to be able to learn from her book and example. She also has some videos on there with me in them. But you don't have to look at those. OUCH!!!! Man I need some work. LOL!!!! Laugh at my trials right!?!

Was she the one that spoke at your house. I did find that idea very interesting and though-provoking. Can I put 'uses potty all by herself, on a regular basis' at the top of the list?
