Love this quote. And these books!!!!

Our liberties are safe until the memories and experiences of the past are blotted out and the Mayflower and its band of Pilgrims forgotten

These are a must have for if our history is not to be forgotten. Really in love with them. : )

The dissatisfaction cycle.

I listened to a seminar and it talked about the dissatisfaction cycle and I thought that it was a great thing to share and remember. So here you and I go
1.The first part of the cycle is Excitement. You are gung ho about doing a goal. What ever it is. Reading so many books this year, weight loss, school, almost anything.
2.The next part reality hits. Life happens and you don't see how you can really do it.
3.Then you start to question. Can I really do this? Is it really some thing that I have time to do? Etc.
4. Dissatisfaction. This is where you just don't what to do it any more.
5. The way to get out of it is to make SMALL goals. Read for 5 min. Exercise for 5 min. Just go to class. Etc.
6.Then production. This is where you get back to it. You usually can accomplish MORE at this stage then the excitement time.
I can think of A LOT of things that has happened in my life where if I would have had this info then I would have done some thing about it. Now I can, and I am glad to know it and recognise it. Hugs all.

My big picture

In charlotte Mason she wants us to write down what we want our children to be like when they are ready to leave our house. I thought about this and this is what I came up with. It is a little rambled but that is ok by me. So here goes.
When my children are standing at the door ready to leave my home I want to see someone who has a strong testimony of the Lord and have a personal relationship with Him. I want them to know who they are and what they want in life and know what it takes to make that happen. I want to see some one who who has strong values and has the courage to stand up to defend those values when necessary. I want to see someone who knows what hard work is and the benefits of that work. I want to see someone who knows what quality is because they have produced that.
I want to see someone who loves truth and liberty. Someone who loves this country and our founding fathers and who will fight for the freedoms that God has given us. I want them to know how our country was found and the sacrifice that it took to make us free. I what them to know how to stand up and defend our country and be willing to do so in times of need. I what them to love this county almost as much as they love the Lord.
I want them to have a thirst for knowledge. I want them to know who they are and what their purpose is in this life. I have a Friend who calls it "mission". I will call it that as well. I what them to know why they are here and what they are supposed to do while in this life. I want them to be able to fulfill that mission and have the world, society, town, ward, neighbors, or even just their home benefit from that. I want them to have the confidence to look at some thing that needs to be done and say to themselves that they can do that. Then do it.
I want them to marry in the temple of the Lord for time and all eternity. I want them to find someone who will love them and respect. I want them in return to love and respect their spouse and know what it takes to create a happy home and a unified marriage.
I will probably add to this but for now this is good.
Enjoy. : )

Great ebook

Ok so there is this lady who wrote a mini book and you can download and read it for free at www.headgates.org
It is amazing and can and I think should be implemented to the best of ones ability to foster a love of learning. : )
No I am not even close to this but I want to be and that is a great start.
I am going to do the 40 bag challenge with one of my friends.
The 40 bag challenge is where we take 40 bags of stuff out of the house and give it away or through it away. I am not talking garbage I am talking down sizing the stuff in my house. I think that it will be hard but really good. And I cant wait to get started tomorrow. : ) It is supposed to be 40 bags in 40 days but I am not going to give myself that kind of a time limit. I will do it as fast as I can without interfering with home school.
Wish me luck it sounds like a lot but it will feel sooooo good once it is done. : )

My feelings of being a bishops wife.

When Steve and I were asked to come in and talk with the Stake President we couldn't fathom what kind of a calling was coming. After he asked if Steve would except the calling as bishop of the 3rd ward we were both dome founded. Steve has done a lot of fasting and praying and I know that he will do a great job. Even when he doesn't feel like he is adequate enough. He is an incredible person and I am so grateful for him. I am grateful and humbled to have him and to have him called as a bishop of the ward. In his blessing of being set apart it said that our family would have the blessings needed to support him. We were talking about that earlier and I truly believe that we will have the blessings necessary to do so.
I have had some fears. One of my fears is that people will look at me different. I am not different. I am not better than anyone else. I have been afraid that some of my friends will feel different towards me. I hope that this is just paranoid.
As far as how I feel as being a mom and having Steve on the stand. I think that part will be ok. There have been some really wonderful ladies come up to me and tell me that they will be more then willing to help me with the kids. Which I am very grateful for. I really do have a really great ward and I am so grateful for every ones support and love. Thank you!!!!

My new cake.

I was asked to make a cake for a funeral this week end. Here is the cake but I wanted to blog about how grateful I am to know that God loves me, and all of us. I put that "families are forever" on this cake because we believe that families when we are sealed in the temple are sealed for time and ALL eternity. I am so grateful for the fact that after one of us return to our Heavenly Father that we will be together again someday. And that our children are also able to live with us for time and all eternity. I am grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves us enough to know that we want to be able to stay together after this life. I love the Gospel and I love my family and the Father and Son. Just so grateful for this knowledge. I hope that you enjoy the pictures. : )
